Why don't people appreciate what you're really WORTH?
Summary
The question today is, why doesn’t everybody understand your worth?
That’s a typical frustration. And it’s not based on what you’re truly worth!
It’s based on the story you tell yourself, but especially the story you tell your world. Our minds create a world full of conflict and personal bias. We cover up our real feelings by overriding them with stories we tell ourselves to make us feel better, to make us feel okay.
But rarely do those stories coincide with our reality.
So there are two problems to deal with here.
First, what are you telling yourself? What stories are you telling yourself?
And second, what do you tell everyone around you? What are the stories you’re telling the world about yourself?
They should coincide.
But to do that, we have to start from scratch. Because what your brain tells you about yourself is what you believe to be you!
Creating your Narrative Capital can help you change your inner narrative, and you’ll be amazed how that can change you. Then we have to understand what you’re narrating to the world, which is even maybe more important.
Today's Exercise
Here’s a short exercise that might start you understanding what I’m talking about.
Write down three adjectives you think that describe your best qualities.
Don’t show them or tell them to anybody. Now ask two people that really know you, your friends, your colleagues, your teachers, maybe your parents, and ask them to send you three adjectives that describe you.
Compare the lists and see if the view of yourself coincides with the view the rest of the world has of you!
That’s what your Narrative Capital is about. If you’re interested, please follow me, and I’ll try to help you along. It’s really an exciting voyage.
